In 2014, President Obama signed the Farm Bill of 2014 into law. This law contains a section that removed Hemp from Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act. It also created a legal structure that made cultivation & research of hemp legal in states that wanted to initiate a “Pilot Research Programs” into the cultivation & marketing of hemp and hemp-derived products.
